Hi everyone! Welcome to Saturday’s surf report from Playa Colorado. The waves started to pick up today. There were lulls between sets, but they were good when they came.

The wind was very light this morning yielding sheet glass conditions. Tubes are back!

I had to get out of dodge quickly in the morning as rain dumped for about 20 minutes while shooting. So I returned in the afternoon and the wind was a little fickle.

This shredder in white made the most the of the slightly higher tide and crumbly wave faces by stringing together a sick combo.

Even the last inside section wasn’t safe. Three power carves to fully utilize the sections offered up by the wave.

The lefts were good which were running just off the edge of the rip-current cutting through the middle of the lineup.

Here you can see one of the rips similar to the one that forms in the middle of Colorados’ break when the swell gets big. Seeing these rips is a positive sign though, as it means the sand will get drawn out further and develop the sandbars. Today was fun, but slow waves. Hopefully we get some more consistency tomorrow when Tony Z returns to the report.
