Hahahahahahaaha – Psych!!!! Had you fooled! No, it was actually the opposite. The Baech was packed and even through the waves were in the small fun zone size, there were all kinds of people between every skill level out there this afternoon enjoying their first surf of 2021!!!
Some of the waves were really roping in too…. check out how far out the take off is on this wave.
Same wave, all the way to the inside pretty much straight onto the sand. Not bad for small, but like I always say….. still super FUN!
Some our amazing residents and all around super cool and chill people (whom I feel lucky to call my friends here) Lucy and Justin enjoying the New years day with a romantic sunset stroll down one of the best beaches in all of Nicaragua. Feliz año nuevo amigos!!!
So the word on the outside streets (meaning we aren’t always as privy to the fast paced world news like some of you) but it’s good to see (can’t quite tell if this is Koji or Yuji, practicing his 6 foot social distancing rule) now that COVID is trying to come on in and enjoy 2021 with us as well. GO AWAY you annoying virus already!!!!!
At a close up glance, you can really see the imperfections (or in Oscars case the perfections in your surfing).
Pulled way back he makes surfing look like you can come on down here (or anywhere in the world for that matter) and give surfing a GO, and you’ll be doing moves like this in no time. Sorry to burst your bubble, but this kids (well, young man now) been surfing since he was just a little guy; and he puts in many hours and hours of practice, big OR small waves. But on a positive note, surfing is all about how much you put into it….. and thus it will give back. Like many things in life! Oscar here, obviously is a giver!
Kenny’s back in the neck of the woods (literally) and we can’t be more stoked to have such a mellow and friendly surfer back in the lineups again. Just don’t count on him not making any wave and sneaking in under one of his late takeoff’s. He’s been surfing here for years and has this place really dialed in. Yeeaaahhh Ken-Dog!
YUP ~ Tropically warm all year. That is for about another couple weeks or so, maybe at best JAJA! Buckle up for those stiff offshore winds that are soon to come. I hope you have a good rashie (at least) But I Highly recommend a good spring suit and if you’’re truly acclimated to this temperature of water, a nice 2mm full suit will help keep you out in the water for those really long sessions on the really good offseason days. Trust me when I say all of this and maybe even re-read it if you’ve never been down here and surfed between Jan and March maybe even April.
P.S. – If you’re from New York or north of there or anywhere in Canada (either coast) you can disregard this entire message) LOL!
Video has been taking the social media world by storm…. but I did that back in the 90’s and early 2000’s and I still say a picture is worth a thousand words over a 1000 likes! 🙂 I love myself a great photo!
And any beginning surfer loves themselves some beachgoer fans just as much as 1000 likes! Wahhhooooooo, surfing is all about this right here….. HAVING AS MUCH FUN AS YOU CAN!!!!!
I feel like 2020 flew by just about as fast as it looks like this guys going on this late afternoon speed blur wave shot. Like the Beastie Boys, who said it best…. “Let it flow – let yourself go
Slow and low – that is the tempo” will be my mantra for 2021!!!!
Farewell to one of the craziest years in the history to every single person living on this planet. Here’s to a GREAT NEW YEAR and many happy, positive and awesome amazing things to come!!!!!! Diacachimba ~ ~ ~ !
RECENT REPORTS
Hey everyone! Welcome to Tuesday’s surf report from Panga Drops, once again we’re talking French Fries. The waves were smaller today, but the shape was arguably slightly better than yesterday. The wind was also a touch lighter.
Hey amigos! Josh back behind the lens for next set of days. Monday’s surf report is coming your way from Panga Drops, specifically “French Fries”. The swell was close to non-existent, but Pangas did its magic and magnified the lackluster size into something playful and shreddable.
