Yuji is such a nimble little surfer. It’s almost like he and Koji were built to navigate Spot X’s short (yet wide) and quick tubes.
The photos really speak for themselves today. This is the closest we will have to good Colorados until it wakes from its dry season hibernation.
I’m kicking myself for missing the window this morning… I paddled out after it had already turned off :’(
Even the lefts were cranking at Spot X. It’s usually only the rights that are good there, but it was so darn good today that it was pitching both ways.
I sincerely hope it’s this good tomorrow so I can get a better shot at some kegs like this.
Yuji must know about the power-scaling term “Nah, he’s only 10% Beerus.” Beerus = really strong guy, hence Yuji = Full Beerus.
Yuji has been charging hard and taking off late at Spot X all off-season. I think this will be a big year for him at Colorados this surf season.
He was no-diffing the rip-current waves at Spot X too.

I think there were only 5 five waves caught by other surfers (numbered at about 15 out at Main Peak), in the time that Yuji made 6+ barrels.
He got a little low coming out of this right and had to battle the lip but…
He made it as per my expectations of Yuji-san.
Spot X showcasing its finest form with a below sea (and sand) level drainer for Yujer to close the report.
Dang, I’d better get to bed so I can get prepped to capitalize on this window tomorrow.
Too easy of a make from Yu-chan.
Well, as I said, Yuji was the undisputed champ of today’s surfing. Period. No-ifs and no-buts. I’m hoping Kai and I can get out there to give the young buck a run for his money at the hottest sand-bar in Iguana presently. If today’s surf report’s picture-perfect barrels don’t haunt you in your dreams tonight then I don’t know what to tell you haha. Don’t you like to get barreled? Well you’d better start lining up your trip down this year.
RECENT REPORTS
Hey amigos! Welcome to Friday evening’s surf report from Colorados. The size and consistency actually declined today, contrary to what was forecasted. There were still a few corners to be had though. The wind was also light this evening.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
