As can be seen here, the wind was strong this morning but the direction was juuuusttt right so that the waves were still fun even on shorter gear prior to 12:00pm.
Mike Doan was wrapping up his session just as I arrived to shoot this morning. He had to work across some funky sections on this wave, but is driving through a shallow bottom turn for an end section maneuver.
He completed a long, drawn-out floater to complete his session this morning.
An interesting line selected by this unknown surfer. It’s rare for me to see surfers opt for mid-face down carves here. I’d say his style and execution of this move were excellent to displace the amount of water he did while staying centered over his board.
He leveraged the slightly easterly wind to his advantage by taking flight on the end-section.

Here we go. This is closer to the types of bottom turns that we want to see!
Regardless of the wind, we can’t complain too much since we have one of the few wave magnets in Southern Nica at our disposal, Panga Drops.
There wasn’t much happening up at Spot X today, but one, lone wave that came in there was sick.
Woah! Villa Iguanas REELING down the beach haha. The bars are starting to get a little bit better down there, but nowhere near the quality of bars that we closer to and during surf season (that being said Villas Iguanas is known for being fairly walled up, albeit a soft drop). Anyways, thanks for checking and see you guys tomorrow for what will probably be similar conditions.
