You may have expected to see a tube fest given the opening frame of this morning’s report. That isn’t the case though. Today the local boys put on an epic air show!
I feel bad for this lip…
Jeison teeing up with textbook style and technique.
Eeeeee——AAAAHHH!
Now for the “maneuver of the day” executed by Oscar Espinoza.
Every aspect of this move was timed and executed perfectly. It was just like watching the guys in the surf movies. I consider the local boys here to equivalent to the best in the world while surfing here at their home court.
Cover shot??? Volcom should send this man some Monero or USDT so that he can buy some Toñas from Cesar with his crypto haha. (Gotta work in the quick crypto shill).
You might be thinking, “Alright. That was pretty impressive. But I doubt he landed it.” — Well let’s see about that…
Oscar ain’t going down like no chump.
HA! Completed. Don’t fade Oscar man.
Chest puffs out as the serotonin kicks in. (lolz)
The WaterDoggy, Kevin Cortez, couldn’t be outdone. He had to take flight with the other fellas. A BIG ooper for the fans.
Dang Kev, you didn’t have to kill the wave that hard!
Jeison decided to give Kevin’s trump card move, the Rodeo, a whirl. He’ll get it in time, but ended up a little frogged out haha.
Oscar likes to give us the “Talk to the hand.”
Surprisingly only one barrel was made while I was shooting. Not due to incompetence from the surfers, just the juicier set waves slowed down temporarily. Jeison got a sick double-section barrel on this left. He was exiting the first section and stalling for the second in this photo.
And a big rooster tail to seal the deal. The local boys dominated the waves today with no contest, in other words ZERO DIFF.
I’m going to regret making this comment now, but I think surf season and good waves at Colorados will probably start earlier this year than last year. Last year Colorados wasn’t so special until May. But we are already seeing the winds lighten up, the water warm up, and some opening swells. I don’t think we’re off to the races just yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if things get rolling consistently in April at some stage. Anyways, see you tomorrow and hope you enjoyed the local boys’ air show.
RECENT REPORTS
Hey amigos! Welcome to Monday evening’s surf report from Colorados. It wasn’t as big as I was expecting, but there was still some push.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Happy Monday mi genti! Waves are back down in the 2-3 foot range. So good thing we have our second favorite back up wave here, “The Drops”! Winds were back to howling (not so-so bad) but even with just those few days or a week or without the winds being nuclear, the water temperature is..
