Bruno and some bodyboarders were the first to hit the waves. Bruno likely captured some good footage on his GoPro this AM.
The wind was very clean at day break this morning. This was probably the best window of the day.
Setting up for the infamous Roll-o. This was the move that the bodyboarders were targeting this morning.
It was a good morning for cruising as well. Nothing wrong with taking a stylish line on mellow waves.
Mariana could’ve found some tunnel time here if she’d taken off a bit deeper.
Now for our maneuver of the day. Bruno stepped into unseen territory today on his bodyboard.
He set himself on a perfect trajectory to hit the lip.
So far it’s looking like a standard roll with a bit of bonus power.
Looks like Bruno mastered harnessing his inner scorpion. He’s pretty inverted here.
Looks like he is close to sticking the landing. I was taken aback by the move.
He stuck the landing! I was so surprised at the whole thing that I didn’t realize he actually made the move. I didn’t get the rest of the sequence, but I’m pretty sure he spun through this for full completion. Probably the craziest move I’ve seen on a bodyboard here.
A brief cameo snap from one of the few surfers in the water this morning. The bodyboarders ran the show as they seemed to be in a good rhythm with the sets.
One last shoulder-high drainer to stoke you up before closing the report. We received some heavy rain this evening and the forecast is looking pretty windy, so this could be our last glimpse at a barrel for a week or so. I’ll still bring you the best action I can capture. Hasta mañana!
