Somewhere in Nicaragua
Smaller waves today. We’ve got some head high sets coming in and offshore winds today. We took a trip to fight the crowds up at Playa Colorado this afternoon and found some fun peaks coming in. There were a couple of boats out and about 25 people in the water, but we still managed to have fun. This is how it looked from the beach.

Zacateca had to cut the session short due to Hot Carl’s minor injury…
So we were forced to leave Playa Colorado prematurely…
And go face our greatest fear…Surgery in Rivas. This is a sign you DON’T want to see when you visit Nicaragua.
As it turns out, Hot Carl sliced open his elbow (doesn’t this always happen on small waves?) and needed stitches. We were fortunate enough to find a really good doctor – even though it was 8pm in Rivas. Here is Hot Carl getting numb.
Check this out. It turns out that Hot Carl also sliced through a ligament, which required a couple of internal stitches. This is a picture of it before it was reattached.
Hot Carl, in good spirits after a successful surgery. The only bummer is that he’s out of the water for the rest of the trip. If anybody needs medical attention in Rivas, give Arturo Marin a call at the San Andreas Clinic. He does great work and his clinic is clean and modern.

Hey everyone! Welcome to Sunday’s surf report from Colorados. The waves were finally a bit bigger today. There was a good window in the morning and in the evening. I took photos around 3:00pm and it was a decent window.
