I will order the photos from the most recent years to those most distant. Here is John at Pangas last year. The wind was comparable today in 2025, but likely slightly lighter.

The remainder of the photos are from Brian Scott, an excellent photographer. Here is Kenny Smith dropping into a windy corner on a foam-top. We miss you Kenny! You know it was cold when Kenny was wearing a full-suit!

On Feb 21, 2022 we see French Fries’ inside right working. Not so different from the waves at that peak today.

In 2021 it was very windy today! If it was that windy at daybreak imagine how rough it would’ve been around mid-day. You can see the trend that the Papagayo winds are usually vicious in February.

In 2020, Emi was busting some cool moves at French Fries. We miss having him, Jett, and Rio in the water!

Looks like 2019 was a fluke year (like this one), where the wind was lighter than normal. You can see it’s still very small though! Which is par for the course in February.

In 2018, we’re back to the same old, same old. Windy, small, and chilly! With the surf action all concentrated at French Fries’ right! It’s wild how consistent and predictable the surf is here. At least relative to other breaks. I hope you guys have enjoyed the trip down memory lane, and hopefully the technical issues are resolved in the near future. Thanks and hasta mañana!

PANGA DROPS
Hi everyone! Welcome to February 21st’s historical surf report review! Due to technical issues, today’s report will revisit conditions from the past 7 years, instead of showing you today’s conditions. Today was fairly windy, and the water was slightly cooler. But when compared to the photos you’ll see, you’ll note just how windy it was..

Hi everyone! Welcome to Wednesday’s surf report from main peak Pangas and the Costa Mar sandbar. The waves were pretty small today and the wind was stronger than the prior days.
