Somewhere in Nicaragua
We’ve had small clean surf here all week. Today we had more of the same. It is about waist high, the wind is light offshore, and the water is in the low eighties. It was unbelievably uncrowded today.
Some quality waves were even going by unridden out at Punto Machete. In the surfers’ absence, some spearfishing divers were owning the point today, taking advantage of the good visibility.
This group of Swedish backpackers have made their way to San Juan determined to learn how to surf. They were surprised to learn Sweden has its own surfing association, but did not relish the idea of practicing their new sport in the Baltic during the winter. Tag det lungt, hej d
A couple recent trips to Costa Rica took me to Playa Grande on the Pacific coast and to Volcano Arenal in the mountains.
