Somewhere in Nicaragua

First off, we’d like to thank the crew at the NSR house over the last week. They scored some great waves and hired Roberto for the whole week to take photos. Have a safe trip home and come back to see us next year!

We’d also like to extend a warm Nicaraguan welcome to some returning friends from Ponce Inlet. This is Lester the Pester, bring fashion a full 360 degrees with a new pair of short-shorts.

There were long lulls in between sets today, but when they did come, they were PUMPING! This is some guy we don’t know, grabbing a sick one, right in front of Mr. Brown.

Low tide brought bigger and rounder barrels to all. Here’s another happy camper, setting up for the shackdown.

We’d like to give a big shout out to the Cooper family, coming to Nicaragua together for the first time. Welcome you guys!

We don’t know who this is, but he was grabbing a lot of good waves so we took his picture. This shot was good enough to post: The black beauty, going backside.

Man, have you had enough yet? Here’s another happy visitor. Keeping cool from the hot Nicaraguan sun.

This one falls under the title of “LAME”. This is a Costa Rican Surf Charter that originates in CR and takes people surfing up the coast. Recently, they’ve been coming to Nicaragua and poaching our best spots as part of their tour. How’s that for a business model – fly into CR, pay a CR company for a surf tour and come to Nicaragua by boat and take advantage of our resources on a regular basis. Hmmmm – no, we don’t like it and either did anybody in the line up. …In case anybody is listening – it would be cool if you’d go to one of the many other boat access beaches and surf by yourselves.

Before we check out for today, we wanted to put up a sequence shot of Mr. Brown. (You didn’t think we forgot about him, did you?) He was out doing his normal thing, but this sequence was truly amazing. It’s kind of long, so stay with us. Shot 1.
