Somewhere in Nicaragua

Alright, I admit the waves weren’t really head high, but after seeing this photo even the saltiest of wave cynics have to admit that it was shoulder high at least. Right? Well to her credit and despite the lack of size Playa Maderas still provided some rideable surf. With a healthy dose of offshores and decent shape we had a few takers in the water today. It was a great day to pull out the longboard and try something new.

In between sets there was plenty to look at as hundreds of birds took advantage of an oceanic buffet. It is too bad the water wasn’t that clear otherwise Kambute aka Tranquilo Danilo and the rest of the boys would have out there getting dinner.

So in actual fact the surf was a-hair-over-mid-shin-high. I learned this highly technical wave judgment system from the bros back in the great state of Florida. It is important to bring you all an accurate surf report, and we thank our friends from Florida for making that possible today.

Young Larry “deerface” was able to snag the wave of the day but for some reason decided to see if his shoe was tied in the middle of his bottom turn.

Based on a diagnostic synthesis of forecasting models coming out of the NSR command center computers I am predicting the surf will bump up to about three-fingers-over-belt-high on the sets tomorrow.
