Here we have a shot of Brian, the older brother of the crew. He was really excited to take this lesson with his brother and sister. He is taking a couple of good shots that we have of him as a good souvenir from this epic moment.

On the last shot of the day we have Caleb “El Matador” Mayorga walking on the big panga. He was killing it all over the place. The surf conditions are supposed to be about the same for the next few days so check back with us.

We’d like to send out a big NSR Christmas welcome to Carlos Caliente’s family – mother Charlotte and sister Molly. It seems that the surf stoke runs deep in this family as despite very little experience both mother and sister were up and riding on their very first waves. Here they are sharing a good one. This is their second visit to Nicaragua, they are loving every minute of it and were overheard giving high praise to Remanso, ceviche, piñatas, Reina, 3am kazoo parades, gallo pinto, Bambu, El Pozo, and Hotel Piedras y Olas. So far Carlos is dominating the scrabble battles. They all wish Agneta, Jim, and Carol an excellent Christmas – hopefully the rest of the clan will make it down soon.

It’s Christmas Eve, but it doesn’t quite feel like it here in the tropics. It’s a comfortable 75 degrees out and there are palm trees and beach sand in place of christmas lights and snow balls. We aren’t complaining though, we like the nice weather. The waves came up a bit over night, but it’s..
