Once again proving that they are the fishing kings of Nicaragua – Surfari Charters went out and slayed the Pargo (that’s Snapper to you and me). …but this time it wasn’t with fishing poles, it was with spearguns! For any of you who haven’t speared a 20+ lb fish with a speargun, let me attest that it’s pretty damn tough – and exciting. No tanks here either, these boys hold their breath. Here’s the boys showing off the days take which included a 51 lb’er, a couple of 30 lb’ers, and some small 15 lb’ers. From right to left we have: Marc Brown, Capt. Lance Moss, Timmy C and Gorgeous George.
All I can say about this one is Holy Sh!#, that’s one big fish. This is Timmy, showing off his 51 lb’er. Check out the size of the head on that thing! I think this one had a horse leg in it’s stomach when they opened it up.
This is Gorgeous George, with two of the “smaller” ones! Last week it was death-defying monster pits and this week he’s killing sea monsters!
Capt. Moss, you know you want a picture with the big one! Yeah boy! The expression on his face says it all! For the full account of their adventure, click on the photo above and check out Lance’s Captain’s Log. (it’s a good read if you have a couple of minutes)
Ever wonder what a sea monster looks like up close? Thanks to the Surfari boys and Erin for sending in these photos. Keep ’em coming!
Sadly, we are also reporting that Jairo has resigned from NSR for personal reasons. Jairo will always be remembered for his big smile, his boogie board prowess and his positive attitude. We wish you the best Jairo!

Hey amigos! Welcome to Tuesday’s surf report from Panga Drops. This lady either ended up a bit later than anticipated or misunderstood what it means to get barreled haha! I’ve got to give her credit for looking at this wave though. You don’t know if you don’t go (or at least look at going).

It wasn’t that far on the map but it took us most of the day to make Acapulco. Winding through the city streets (which are not unlike Chinatown, SF on a weekday afternoon), we were certain that we were lost several times. However, after one refueling stop and getting pulled over by the fuzz we..
