Somewhere in Nicaragua
The 2nd Annual Earthship Pitaya Festival is fast approaching and there is a definitive buzz about town. This years festival promises to be an experience not to miss, with 6 fantastic musical acts, games, tours of Nicaragua’s premier Earthship and an early morning yoga workshop. In the musical department this year we are starting things off with Traveling Talent, which is going to be a 2 hour showcase of some of the finest Open Mic performers in town. If you are interested in performing at this years festival, please come out to Thursday Open Mic nights at Pau Hana and talk to either Matty or James. Ā After that we have Guadalajara Joe, who is a hip hop artist from California, the infamous Matty Powell of Saskatchewan, Canada who’s been entertaining audiences in San Juan for quite some time, Marea Llena who are based in San Juan will be doing some Nicaraguan folk music, the ever loved Don Bigote y Los Pobrecitos will be returning this year to get you dancing into the night, Monroy y Surmenage a well known Nicaraguan rock band sponsored by Movistar will be finishing the live music portion of the evening and then finally, to keep you dancing as the full moon rises we have Johnny G djing. There will be tons of great food vendors as well to make sure you’re well fed and of course plenty of beer to cool you off. There will be transportation available to the site, so check out the next edition of Del Sur to see where to wait for the buses. You don’t want to miss this years festival, it will be an experience of a lifetime.
Hi everyone, this is Miguel bringing you all the action for this Sunday surf report.Ā Today we went to beach in the morning when the tide was going out, trying to get a few shots.Ā The waves were super fun running about waist to chest high on sets with nice offshore winds and the water was clear.Ā Check out the lineup!!!
Today we are going to start with our very own āPancho Sanchezā.Ā He was catching some waves.Ā Check him out riding on this beautiful right hander.Ā That’s D-lite dropping in on the shoulder, crashing in the lip.
We had a lot of people in the lineup trying to catch a couple waves.Ā On this shot we have this local guy riding on this right hander- one of the many waves that we had today.
There were another people at the beach today, but not surfers.Ā This girl was enjoying the morning by practicing yoga.
On this shot we have D-lite,decided to exchange his short board for the long board, enjoying this wave all by himself.
We had a few localsā guys out there having a good time.Ā Here we have one of the many locals that we had today, dropping in on this sweet right hander- one of the bigger sets that we had out.
On the last shot of the day we have Dunia giving a massage to this girl.Ā What a perfect way to end you surf session.Ā Alright folks thatās all for today.Ā We should still have some fun waves for most of this week, so check back tomorrow!
