Somewhere in Nicaragua

We would like to say thank you to all our viewers and past guests for helping us give back to the locals here in Nicaragua. In 2010, we collected nearly 1,000 clothing items for the community of La Chureca and we came close to matching that number last year in school supply donations for the Santa Marta elementary school located along the entrance road to Hacienda Iguana. This year, we are happy to announce the2012 NSR Spanish Book drivefor the new library in Limon 2 (for those of you unfamiliar with this community, it is located immediately past Rancho Santana and only about 15-20 minutes from Hacienda Iguana). We have a donation box in our Hacienda Iguana office (books can also be dropped off at our San Juan del Sur location). If looking to give back, please add a book, or 2, or 3 or more to your packing list. Spanish books only please!

Meanwhile on the beach, boys and girls were having a good time, reading a nice book, getting a nice tang or playing some volleyball.  Way to go ladies and gentleman!

Quite a few locals made it out and they also found some nice ones to have fun on their longboards.  Chulin Estrellla, just chilling like Bob dealing on penicillin!

Not many people were riding shortboards today, because it was way more fun to go out on big boards.  This Masequito was the only guy out on his shortboard today, maybe because he only weights 65 pounds.

The fish is getting closer to shore so we are getting ready to go fishing.  All those birds around means that we have ton of baits being chased by big fish.  We are going to get some fish so please check back tomorrow.

PANGA DROPS

Howdy everyone! Welcome to Thursday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The waves surprised to the upside today. It was slightly larger than I was expecting, and there were hour plus long windows where the wind dropped out.

PANGA DROPS

Hola amigos! Welcome to Wednesday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The tide was a bit lower by the time I got around to shooting today, so there was more action at mid-peak than the side-peaks. The wind was stronger today, but it was a little bigger today too.

PANGA DROPS

Hey everyone! Welcome to Tuesday’s surf report from Panga Drops, once again we’re talking French Fries. The waves were smaller today, but the shape was arguably slightly better than yesterday. The wind was also a touch lighter.

Lots of water was moving around this morning and the currents were pretty strong, so it was very hard to find the spot to pick up some of the better ones.  This is Carlitos Caliente dropping into a nice sized right hander.  This wave was easily double over head and Carlitos was charging.

Welcome to our daily surf report.  We are Lucha and Miguel bringing you all the action we had on the beach straight to your computers.  The waves were still pretty small but it was super fun to paddle out on the big pangas.  It was running about waist to chest high on sets with strong..
