Here we have the father and orginial name holder of NSR intern Mel coming all the way from Florida in the search of some tube time. Get it buddy!
We had a couple of Brazilian longboarder’s getting pig-gnar all morning on the rights. Here we have Marcelo Ceara on a nice looking right searching for some shade.
Marcelo’s fellow countryman and longboard-companion Jr Bueno setting up for a bottom turn from south of the equator. yewwww
Don’t be fooled, there were also plenty of grinding lefts flowing in. To top off the three-hitter-quitter, we have here brazo numero tres Guto looking to get piped on an over-head left.
There is nothing out of the ordinary about seeing local stand-out Lester pulling off a sick move. Here he is seen ripping one off the top on a playful right. Dale duro!!
It remains to be seen if Mel’s internship with NSR is getting barreled or doing graphic design. In any case, it never get’s old seeing him tuck into reeling lefts.
This is what we call Nica-style transportation : a bunch of frothers getting to the surf contest by any means necessary. But remember folks, safety is our top priority.
Down the beach at the contest site we see local Jackson showing us why he is going to be one of the favorites in the contest.
Here of have Kevin from Gigante looking to give the rest of the competition a run for their money. If it is isn’t his backside fin-release that will grab the judges attention, it will for sure be his neon boardies.
Here we have Mateo and some of his fellow San Diegons helping to put on the contest. This is the third year running for this community service based contest. These guys have brought a lot to the local schools / surfers, and everyone is super stoked to have them down here! Thanks guysAll right everybody, Codo Lopez and Don Simon de la Salsa del Oeste are out. Next few days should see slightly decreasing size, but buckle up for later in the week. Adios amigos!
