Somewhere in Nicaragua
Whattup homies and homettes! Welcome to your Monday edition of the surf report, coming at you from Tola Nicaragua where even Monday is funday. So the websites are all forecasting 1-2 ft today and we love it! With a recent storm giving us some much needed rain and shade from the sun and the waves running in the waist to chest range we were on it for the lunch time session at this swell magnet of a spot.
Weightless is a word that almost never comes to mind when you are a 200+lb mass of muscle. But this down-the-line ride from Armando “El Codo” Lopez definitely evokes the idea. He’ll need all that speed to thread the needle and avoid the guys chilling on the inside.
As mentioned Sunday isn’t the only funday in Nicaragua. Monday also sees family and friends making a beach day of it. Hey Thalia!!
Though a bit on the small side, conditions and shape were perfect today. And the ladies were loving it.

Speaking of getting above the lip, the standout surfer in the water today was Oli Camero visiting from Panama. This guy rips!
When you’re on vacation here in Nica and the waves get small and you only brought shortboards – no worries. This time of year it is not often very big, but it can sure be fun. The water’s 80 degrees and the winds are light and offshore all day. Hey amigos! I’ve got another flashback surf report for this Saturday (ongoing technical difficulties). Today in 2025 the waves weren’t so bad. It was really windy, but the direction was straight offshore. It wasn’t so different from this pic from 2024 that you see here.

Hello my friends. Everyday we are hoping this spot have some good waves and check the line up. Only three people in the water, waiting for this type of wave. The water start be cold and the wind is not helping. Is time to use the wetsuit 2’2′ is good.
The swell is finally here. Yeah folks, the swell is filling in and it should be building during the day. Head high waves on the bigger sets, nice offshore winds and beautiful water. Check out the lineup!
