Guess what?!?! The waves picked up! Not by much- but definitely an improvement. Just in time for the weekend.
Size is similar to what it was but the interval and consistency picked up. That means longer waves coming in more frequently. Not too shabby for the offseason, huh?
Lefts and rights were both on tap all morning! Plenty of waves came through that a framed and would have pleased the regular and goofy footers.
However, all the locals are at the competition at Maderas. Because last weekend was flat, it was moved to this weekend. Combine that with the slow season (soon to pick up), and you can take your pick at any wave!
Or be like John- avoid people and dawn patrol it. He is one of the first surfers in the water every morning.
The problem with dawn patroling it is we talk about breakfast way too early. If we surf for 3 hours but we start talking about French toast, pancakes, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese biscuits, we’ll be out of the water by 6AM!!! John know what’s up for breakfast and how to creep up on the nose too.
As we are gearing up for the holiday season, let’s touch base about hours of operation for NSR and Pili’s Kitchen at the Beach Club. As usual, NSR closes early on Christmas Eve (3pm) and we are closed for Christmas. Otherwise, we have normal hours of operation (9am to 5pm) for New Year’s Eve and Day. As for Pili’s Kitchen, the restaurant is open 9am to 4pm on Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. For the bar, they are open 10am to 6pm the 24th, 25th, and 1st. On the 31st, they open normally at 10am but the beach party will carry on into the mananita of the 1st. Definitely swing by for a cock tail, listen to the live music, and enjoy some fireworks!!
As for planning out your Saturday night this evening, Scoops and Spokes/Sidebar moved their event to tonight. Swing by starting around 7pm for a fiesta including beers on tap, dancing, and tattoos. Make your momma proud and hit up all three in one night!!!!!
Just make sure you still make it out for some waves! Only a few reservations, locals, and a lot of waves…
Ok damas and caballeros, time to finish up some work so we can enjoy the afternoon and evening! Thank you for checking out today’s shots and have a good Saturday night as well! Hasta en la manana amigos!

Hey everyone! Welcome to Saturday morning’s surf report from Panga Drops. The waves were very small today, but the morning window was favorable with the tide. Good for cruisin’!
