A bunch of the young local surfers came to enjoy the small playful waves. It’s great to see them going big on every turn, trying to shred the wave and falling almost with every try.
As I said, the sets were of good size. This is first peak showing some action.
In between sets the waves were small but still good enough to make a few turns like this guy about to do a roundhouse cutback.
How about a laidback hack on a tiny wave? If Im not mistaken this guy’s last name is Quedo but I cant remember his first name!
Another set wave… another barrel. This guy got super deep there, I even stopped taking photos on this one because I thought he was not going to make it.
It’s great to see the groms surfing but some of them still don’t know the rules and ethics of surfing and they drop in on others without even care.
The sad part is that not only the groms drop in, there are also grown up visitors that don’t follow the rules, creating discontent among the local surfers.
Small but always powerful waves here at Santana, ask this guy, he was doing some sick turns on them.
Look at this long, hollow and perfect left. Don’t you want to be there too? By the way, the three photos of barrels today are from the same guy, He is probably having a few cold beers after this session.
That’s it for today folks. Looks like it’s going to be smaller during the weekend but maybe at Colorado there will be more size, let’s see what Hotsticks and Bryan show from there. Cheers!
