I waited for some time to get going on the photos since the gloomy weather headed my adventure side to get down there today (not to mention not wanting to get my gear all wet from the on and off rain)… but to my surprise, by the time I got down there, I found gems like this all around.
My buddy Nico’s smile says it all! Never a dull moment here. You just have to stay positive and always look on the brighter side, even when the sun decides to hide her sunny rays.
Nico is visiting from the Caribbean and is here for a good amount of time. I want him to get the jewels of what Nicaragua has to offer while he is here. I think he’s already gotten a pretty good taste, and that’s not including his Beach Club smoothy addiction either.
I mean, what’s not to love about this place when you see this happening.
The crowd factor can be as constant as the ebb and flow of the tides, which in fact has a lot to do with this photo. Choose wisely, and you can score this place as empty as a train station on Christmas morning.
I for one totally thought today’s lighting was going to be blown for sure, but miracles do and did surprisingly happen today.
The yin of my other amigos yang from the Caribbean, Kyle. These guys are classic!
The conditions today were superb and moody both at the same time.
Wouldn’t you agree?
I have to give a GREAT BIG SHOUT OUT to my amigo Nacho who’s heading out tomorrow. Super stoked you scored a really good day before you had to leave buddy! We’ll be thinking about you and looking forward to your return back home soon! p.s. start thinking about your next epic party theme for when you get back homie!
Maybe this could be a new game to play here on the NSR report. Guess who’s behind the curtain. Only my sequence will tell…???
Or even better.. did he/she make it? Watcha think? I’m gonna let my buddy Joel fill you in on this one. Lets just say he bat’s a pretty high average with his barrel riding skills.
Alex scored on his last day here, not only making a bunch of his barrels as well, but making it look effortless.
I always love to include one way or another the counter part of the male continuum here in the lineup. Surfer girls ARE awesome!
On that note… Joel is an awesome surfer in his own right… aside from many other talented things.
This could be one of those cases of.. did he make it?? We’ll just say he punched through that chandelier like a bull running through a china shop and crushed that whole end section like it was nothing.
I guess if we’re on the topic of games today… I would have to say that there was A LOT of hide and seek out there.
Lesther says… ready or not… here I come!
Stoked to have met Alex from NJ today. He’s a fellow lensman as well, so getting some shots are that much more significant to us when we finally do get to step in front of the camera.
I was so very glad I stayed as long as I did today down at the playa. I met new people, saw some incredible things and even took on some old and new angles that I needed to see & visit again. This shot stoked me out… can you guess why?
This wave I am certain stoked this guy out. Wouldn’t you be stoked to be in his position, on a wave like that at your home break?
Well that’s something you wouldn’t normally see at your home break that’s for sure. Unless you live in Nicaragua.
These guys couldn’t agree more!….. Well that’s it for the Mid-Weekend report my friends. Tomorrow is Sunday, sometimes known here also as the funday. So lets see what we have to offer. Check back in and hopefully it’s more fun waves and maybe something out of the ordinary? We’ll just have to wait and see… Have a fun and safe Sat night and we’ll see ya por la mañana!! Chao ~
RECENT REPORTS
Hey amigos! Welcome to Thursday’s surf report from Colorados. I saw the waves turn on and off about 7 separate times today. The conditions were in constant flux. It just so happened to be that the best window of the day was when I took pictures around 1:00pm.
