Somewhere in Nicaragua
Welcome to the Tuesday AND last small day surf report for the week amigos! That’s right, the swell is filling in as I write this.. so good things are going to be happening first thing tomorrow! But first lets see what we had in store for today.
Not too crowded (yet) but some spectators already making their way down to the playa to see if the big surf was ready to show up maybe a little early.
Nothing too crazy going on when I went down to shoot this afternoon, I was hoping like everyone else to see some front runners; but this was surely entertaining enough!
People out there still enjoying what we have to offer every day… super fun rippable waves.
This photo depicts a couple things. One, the surf, although it doesn’t look gnarly yet, come mañana it’s going to look a whole lot different. And two, we have these very distinct sand bars (about 3 really good ones) I counted on the lower tided this evening. This is and could potentially be a very good thing for tomorrow as we are expecting a really good set of combo swell, so when you combine that with these sandbars, it could be all time Tee-Pee, A-Frame Magic tomorrow! Let’s hope!
Hard to tell from this angle, but the sand bars I was out shooting from, I would normally be about chest deep in water; just to give a little idea of how high they are right now. Add some size tomorrow and you can imagine….
Aaaaannd we have our first set of front runners. I saw this set swinging in like clockwork.
Looks like this boogie boarder dude is at mini wedge or something. Oh man, I’m frothing for tomorrow already!!
The third element that could potentially make tomorrow one of our best days ever this year… they just opened up our river mouth once again, and LOOK at all that water coming out, including with it… LOTS more sand!
Sick spay dude! Check out all that sand in the lineup water.
Hopefully we’ll have plenty of lefts…
and rights.
In the meantime, here’s a “micro” version I what we should all be dreaming of tonight.
