But what’s the best thing to do when the waves are decent enough to still go out? Bring a board different than your normal thruster and have fun with it. There are endless surfboard shapes out there, why keep using the same board all the time?

Like this guy, who brought his red twin fin fish to play around, it looked like he was still figuring it out but that’s the point, right? Learn the curves of the board and learn how to adapt your style to it.

Here he is in another wave cutting some lines into it. I think he got on a longboard later.

This is not the case for Don Guru Stone, who, on a normal basis, uses an asymmetric shortboard no matter the conditions, he loves it. There he is, waxing his board while walking into those little peaks.

Of course you could still have a lot of fun with the normal shortboard today. Here is Moncho on a nice right.

Size doesn’t matter… for some, today was almost double overhead. This local grom was catching so much speed on these “little” waves!

Kenny Smith was the only person getting waves at first peak. Waves were smaller and scarce over there but he had them all for himself.

And if you hang out with Don Guru, maybe you get lucky enough to get behind the curtain too. His buddy Bryan following his teachings very close.

Some people prefer to create their own curtains when they are hard to find.

And sometimes the curtain just find you without prior notice.

A single fin! After taking photos I went out with the single fin surfboard I shaped “for my girlfriend” (now my wife) a long time ago, it was fun but, sadly, I forgot to bring a leash with me so I got out after a couple of times of swimming back to the beach to get the board.

Eso es todo por hoy amigos. I hope you enjoyed today’s report as much as I enjoyed writing it. Saludos!
