Hola surfistas!!! Today they ran the Oakley Surf Shop Challenge. Let’s see how some of the talent did out there!

Being this was the final for the day, this team rider from Sunrise Surf Shop in Jacksonville Beach, Fl was doing his teammates proud with huge gouges like this.
Quivers for days all over the place. I can only imagine the local kids froth level seeing all these pearly whites laying around. I wonder how many will get “donated” to the local kids??
This is the second year they’ve held this contest here in Nicaragua. It’s a little risky holding it in October.
Case in point. If only they were able to hold this thing about a week ago… we had some of the best waves I’ve seen here in a while.
Surf shop guys analyze the (more than likley) all too familiar surfing conditions they probably surf back home.
I personal think it’s great they run this thing down here. It’s good to see that level of surfing come in this form to our beach here. Mixes it up a bit.

People fall head over heals in love with Nicaragua all the time! This hombre just got sabotaged by his own leash tho. But I’m sure he still loves this place!

It’s a legit fun little comp they throw down here. Camera crews and all.
After living in So Cal myself for many years, I gotta say I like this backdrop way better than say, the HB pier or a cityscape.

Like any surf event venue, the locals and surfers alike are always frothing to get in the water right after the final heat finishes up.
I’d say you don’t have to rush out there for much, but still, like one amigo friend of mine from Santa Cruz said, “well you can’t beat 80 degree warm water”. He’s totally right!
The “free-surfers” were stoked on seeing all the competitive surfing, they were ready to get out there and apply the watching into the doing.

Now check out this guys.. two different guys on two different waves. One surfs goofy the other surfs regular and their style is practically mirrored perfection.

Craziest spray I’ve ever seen?? Looks like he’s bout to get barrled by his own spray! hahaa
My buddy Timmy (finding a nice little section to float over) has been down here for bit, for the contest; but luckily he got here a little early, and he scored that really good swell on the 21st. He surfs super good, all these guys rip! I really wish they could have had the typical Colorados to do their thing in today. Maybe next year??
Every day is a beach day in Southern Nicaragua, rain or shine.
Ok amigos and amigas, the Official Oakley Surf Shop Challenge has came, they seen and they crowned the new 2017 best surf shop, right here in Nicaragua. Hey everyone! Welcome to Saturday’s surf report from Playa Colorado. There was a window early today and right at sunset. At mid-day when I took pictures the wind kicked up making for better turn sections than tubes. Still a few if you knew where to look.

Hello and welcome to the last week of October. Usually this month have a lot of days with onshore wind but this year just have around three to four day. The waves are coming constantly and some sets are over head. Check it out.
Yew! It’s Sunday funday, the wind is offshore and the waves are looking super fun. Not too much size, but after our recent spell of onshore winds, no one’s complaining.
