The planets aligned for 30-45 minutes and the ocean became this beautiful collection of postcards that would make everyone drool… the photos don’t do any justice to the real thing.
All along the beach, picture perfect empty peaks appeared… hollow strokes of greens and blues decorated with gentle brushes of offshore winds over a light blue sky.
Just a few people were surfing at this time of the morning. Sadly, they all seemed to be in the wrong place to catch the good ones.
El Matador couldn’t locate himself in the right spot on the big ones… he was too deep or too far on the shoulder but, he was catching a lot of the in-between-sets waves.
Look at her here, trying to find some shade under this nice looking lip… she got a kiss on her shoulder.
Among the fortuned ones surfing today, there was a StandUp Paddleboarder. As you might think, Santana doesn’t seem too SUP friendly but he was doing his best to catch and ride some steep waves.
And as experienced surfer that he might be, he knew which ones were worth paddling into… at least most of the times.
This other guy brought his funboard… he was catching a lot of waves but he was having some difficult times with the drops, of course, this wave was not the case.
What comes with nice waves?… nice sprays!
And what’s better than a nice wave? This kid on the sand might have a good answer.
Apologies for my auto-focus, I was aiming for that barrel on the back.
Look at that shade, that would have been a great barrel is he was a little bit deeper on that one.
A few minutes later, another beautiful A-frame right at the same spot. You can see El Matador just returning from the wave from the last picture.
Beautiful waves usually are not that beautiful once you see them up close and about to crush you.
Even the pelicans wanted to be part of today’s good conditions, this one was checking out the line up before deciding where to sit.
The Mermaid caught so many waves today. This is one of the best peaks she got into.
She was getting tired so she decided it was time to find a good comfortable spot to sit down and relax. This is the real couch surfing!
Some of the A-frames were a real test for speed… pick a direction and hit the gas!
The waves will get smaller in the next few days but around Tuesday of next week it looks like it’s going to be good… hopefully this good but with more size.
I hope you have enjoyed these waves as much as me. Big thanks to mother nature for such a beautiful day… and thanks for these 3 models to pose for the camera. Saludos!
