I know how these conditions can make you feel hopeless and desperate, like looking down into an abysm thinking about jumping, “This is the End” by The Doors playing in your head over and over again.
Going out for a swim is the perfect aerobic exercise to get into shape… and nothing beats the feeling of weightlessness inside this Holly water that most people know it as simple salt water.
With these conditions (or lack of them) the water gets very clear, making snorkeling, free diving and scuba diving (those 4 dark spots are divers) a great option to spend a few hours in the water, who knows, maybe you can even catch your next dinner down there.
An awesome way to keep your brain in Surfing Mode is to sit on the beach and “mind-surf” each little wave that you see, imagining the infinite possibilities if we could become the size of a mouse, getting barreled non-stop.
And if you are not into training or any exercises, then another good thing to do is to get back to that old project that you’ve been letting it for “mañana”, and start cleaning, fixing, tuning up that boat, car, toy or anything that has been needing some of your time but surfing has kept you away from doing it.**I’m just using El Explorador as a photo model, it is actually in perfect conditions, it’s just out of the water to avoid the windy season.
Maybe the girl was just deciding which house to stay on her next vacation during a better surfing month, like June for example, when there are not that many tourists in the area and the waves are firing everywhere in Nicaragua. If you are thinking about coming, then June is a great month and you should take a look atCasa Rock at Rosada beach, inside Rancho Santana for your next vacation rental in Nicaragua.
And to show you that there is always hope, that no matter how bad the conditions seems to you, there is always someone having fun out there, making it with what they have, looking at the bright side and going for it. May The Stoke Be With You, little girl!
Kuddos for their dad, showing them there is always room for fun, and some moves!
I hope these little tips on how to survive flat days can improve your surfing in the future (unless you go for the bottle!). Either way, this is not common in Nicaragua, here at NSR we have more than 10 years of daily photo records to prove it! Saludos!

Howdy everyone! Welcome to Thursday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The waves surprised to the upside today. It was slightly larger than I was expecting, and there were hour plus long windows where the wind dropped out.
