I waited at Santana for almost 30 minutes and nobody showed up so I decided to go check out Panga Drops for more action.
Mateo was killing it today, here he’s finishing a nice turn with a tail slide.
He almost lost control of the turn with the unexpected slide but he has a lot of experience in situations like this and managed to regain control.
Graham was having a great time too, hitting the lip with power and control.
The long rights of Panga… the perfect spot to master and show off your cutbacks.
Wherever you were looking, every wave came with several curtains of water flying after every turn.
This next sequence is presented by Kevin “Bad Boy” Cortez… it’s a tutorial of “how to slow down when surfing”, check it out and learn.
The preferable way to slow down on a wave for most of the surfers is by doing a quick turn on the face of the wave, you know, leaving a huge spray behind you just like Kevin “Bad Boy” is showing you here.
Another way to slow down is by lifting the nose and pressing on the tail, this is literally putting the breaks on the board… and when you see the Bad Boy using this no-so-common way, it means that something great is coming.
Something like a full style one-hand grab 360 air to finish the the wave. Thanks for the tutorial Bad Boy!
Panga was great today, with little soft peaks between sets.
And big faster peaks on the sets.
Panga Drops is a top surf spot in Nicaraguas, very consistent and works with all tides!
Please, cross your fingers to have better (or at least the same) conditions tomorrow. It should be fun. Hasta mañana!
