As for myself, much like everyone else, I think we were all waiting to see how the afternoon sesh was gonna pan out, being that the entire day’s winds were going nuclear.

When all else fails… grab a log and throw it on cruise control.

Seriously though, if you’re any kind of photographer…. this guy definitely had the right idea. Try and imagine lugging a bulky 10-15 lb DLSR rig around on the beach trying to avoid wind gusts of up to 40 mph and sand that loves to eat your camera parts that cost thousands of dollars. Smart phone for the WIN!

The depth and perception certainly gives this image an upgrade rating of 7.5 out of 10. Thus making it a lot better than it really was out there.

Doing a sick turn right in front of your chica on a mediocre and tuff day of surf, 1000 bonus points!

Kinda glassy and clean, right??? NOT! But we’ll roll with it!

I gotta give some nice props to the ladies for making it out this afternoon. Not only was the water a bit chili, but the current looked like a good challenge as well.

We had some waves in the smaller, 1-3 foot size.

And the occasional over head as well.

And like most days, we usually have a few pretty good rippers out there doing their thing.

“Stop and Go” kingpin, Dr. Cesar making some golden hour incisions on his backhand, making it look super fun!

How do you like your sunset happy hour beverage of choice? Ice cold is a Nica standard, with the warm sun on your face as you watch the sun dip into the Pacific ocean.

As always, it was another day to be grateful for! Let’s see how the winds are doing tomorrow morning. Either way, I’ll be here to give you an update regardless. Thanks for stopping by friends. Cheers ~
