This is what it looks like when you go to shoot the reef and then look south and see this. ALL EYES on the beach break!!!!

The swell was building throughout the day and the high tide peaked right in the late afternoon, so needless to say… midday was the time!

It was a full on barrel fest out there!

Oscar getting all Clay Marzo on us! Sick one bother!

This amiga was out there keeping up with all the boys. Like I said in yesterdays report…. WHERE MY CHICAS AT???? Come on ladies, this is your time to get those barrel shots!

Always great to see one of Nicaragua’s most talented surfers, gracing us with his presence at this world wide famous wave. Jackson Obando has been surfing this wave since he was a little kid.

John Gillem…. YOU READY for some serious JUICE????? I know you’ve been waiting for a while buddy. Get ready amigo!!!!

The conditions today were nothing short of amazing. Light offshore, clear semi glassy water. Perfect aqua cylinders dished up over smooth sand. YES PLEASE!!!

I had so many mystery barrel surfers today it was ridiculous!

The wave of the day was by far this one. Mystery surfer, super super deep and was in there for a while and came out losing his mind. I would too if I caught a wave like this, wouldn’t you?

I love seeing Jackson when he comes to surf here. You never know what he’s going to pull on any given wave, but you can definitely count on him making pretty much anything he throws to the wind.

Like I said, this swell was building throughout the day. So some turns were in the mix along with all the barrels that were being taken.

The BTS of the local cinema crew.

After watching so many insanely good rights going down today and with the light quickly shifting to better expose the lefts….. I knew tomorrow morning would have to be the call.

I came home to offload, color correct and do my routine surf report duties, but something had me thinking that maybe the late afternoon session was going to possibly be just as good as earlier. So I packed up my gear and headed back to check it.

Luckily for me and I guess you for guys too, you get a little added bonus surf report with the arvo session as well!

The late afternoon session certainly didn’t disappoint one bit!

Even though the rights were the ticket today…. the lefts were still pretty sick!

Little miss Erin Brooks has so much passion in her surfing for such a tiny little thing. I think she’s gonna make some BIG waves in the surfing world soon! Ripping chica!!!

The southern more famous Colorados main peak was getting all ripped out, so the majority of the surfers out this evening were way north at the new far bar that’s been firing with some really chunky heaving rights. Oscar here takes the road less traveled and surfs against the grain. Nica Style!!!

This swell is alright, or all right.

Of course a beach break that offers both makes it that much more easy to be on the map as a world class wave.

Then again…. you see this coming in at the last few light hours of the day and you’re prediction for the morning EPIC surf session is more than likely going to be spot on.

We shall see!!!

How was the close to your weekend??? I must say…. ours was pretty nice!

My parting surf shot and nice big fat blind air over this closeout section goes to my homie Oscar!

Unreal eh? Let’s see how tomorrow goes for more waves. Check in to see Baldo’s Monday weekly kickoff mañana! Thanks for having me as a part of your weekend experience. Hola and welcome to another Nicaragua Surf Report. Well it’s officual, rainy season is here, inaugerated with a proper early morning downpour, lightening and thunder show.
