If you decide you’re gonna enter the air game, you need to have two things. A lot of speed and comfort with your surfing & some pretty big huevos!
I think it’s safe to say this kid has plenty of both. Aim high young ripper!!!
The morning commute here in Southern Nicaragua.
I’ve got to say (and this might be my very first time in saying so) todays report is dedicated to all the unsung traveling, non-local surfers who were out partaking in the barrel fest this morning.
From the time between 7am and 8am, it was nothing but hard charging pale riders getting shacked out of their minds!!!
And if I can share with your how hollow the wave were throwing out there today… well, here’s a little sample.
It takes wings to fly, yes, any aviation expert can attest to this. It’s how well you can navigate the salt mines is really all us surfers really care about.
Sadly, not all barrels are created equal. Actually, truth be told, with todays social media powers that be… almost all waves shared amongst the surfing population are usually own shown in all their glory with elite perfection and flawlessness. Here I’ve decided to go against the grain a little and show how nasty and uncomfortable some barrels can tend to be.
See what I’m saying. It’s not always all crystal blue cylinders and dolphins riding below the surface sharing your waves in an aquatic paradise.
You know who brought their A-GAME and was locked and loaded the entire session; and the only girl out there this morning, mind you. This chica… Erin Brooks, that’s WHO!!
Unsung hero #12 of the day (only in my highlights though) there many more the entire day, trust me!
I’ve been telling all the people who have laid down a lot of coin to come here and surf these early parts of June, NOT TO WORRY. Don’t worry buddies, Nica, ALWAYS delivers. YES SHE DOES!!
There were some chunky WELL over head nuggets creeping through all day. This one just happen to be around 7:46AM
If you’ve ever questioned my editing of my photos, trust my when I tell you, I come from a pretty high standard background in the film industry, so I am accustomed to knowing lights, darks and everything in-between, before saturation. So the colors in my images are my thanks to the many years of learning learning light and the thousands of $$$ of gear I’ve invested in with the best glass. And yes, it’s always about the best glass!!! Think 20/20 vision.
Of course you can’t have an epic session without some epic wipeouts. Unknown dude about to pay some PC taxes!!
HOLD YOUR BREATH!!!!
My semi-mystery barrel rider of the day. I only say “semi” because the first rule of using any compromising photos of someone who can debate whether it’s them or not is always the good old fashioned tattoo. So if you know this tattoo or the guy with tattoo, he’d be stoked to know I have some really nice shots of him.
Well, how was that for 1 hour of an early AM photo/surfing session??? I hope you enjoyed. I know EVERYONE who was here surfing today surely did!
