Tony was the only one out surfing today! True – at this peak.

Chocoyo didn’t land this air, but it sure helped my mediocre of a report today. Gracias Chocoyo!!!!

My lens really can’t zoom in this far… I had to crop it in Photoshop. but damn, I have to say Derek looks pretty stylish and sexy all zoomed in like that!

All the mystery barrel surfers you’ve ever seen in the past aren’t real. I’ve photoshopped every single one of them starting out as an empty barrel and doing a little wizardry with my desktop skills!

I flipped this image because I needed more lefts to match my rights today so I had continuity and equality of both directions with my imagery. Luckily Josh went switch on this so it ended up making him look like his natural goofy footed stance.

Chocoyo did land this air. What you don’t see in the sequence is that he boosted over 3 guys which I ended up having to mask out. If you zoom in you can sorta see one of the guys feet I forgot to clone out.

This was actually the only female out there surfing today. True story.

John’s about my height, which is roughly 5’ 7”, which is why this wave looks so big for today.

Uh ohhhh…. what’s “Sharky” got up his sleeve on this sick right?????

Tony Z straight up has one of Theeee Best Goofy Footer Backhand hack Attacks in the business down here!

See what Im saying about Lil’ John… it’s a good thing he’s so petite so he can squeeze into todays mini barrels.

Well, now I’m a little bummed that I clued you all into one of my best kept secrets in the surf photography business… this empty wave looked soooo GOOD, but it always looks better when you place a surfer under that lip!

Here’s another great insider trick of the trade… grabbing the clone tool and using the feather brush at about 45% and delicately selecting small portions of the white water at the back of the wave and placing under the surfer dramatically increases the spray. But only do this is you think you can pull it off… otherwise it looks really cheezy and fake!

Using that same effect on a top turn like this still applies, however, placing long distant objects (like a boat or some kind of island in the background) greatly improves the believability and also looks pretty cool!

Well…. all that being said…. I know Chris can concur that todays waves were at best mediocre and everything I said is pretty much accurate. Let’s hope tomorrows waves are better and “really” a lot more fun! Haha thanks for putting up with my sense of humor with todays surf report. It your’e confused by any of it… my apologies! Jaja – you’re all the best ~
RECENT REPORTS

Happy Sunday Funday, We had another great day of surf. We went of campus to the fun wedge around the corner. @tonyzphotos reporting.

Hey everyone! Welcome to Saturday’s surf report from Playa Colorado. The waves were even better today than yesterday. The morning was definitely the window, but the afternoon was rippable too with the higher tide.

Hey everyone! Welcome to Friday’s surf report from Colorados. Surfline ended up being way off today. Today was supposed to be the bottom of the swell, but the sets were just as big today as they were on Wednesday, the peak of the last swell. I think it was the long-interval new swell filling in..

Happy Sunday Funday from Nicaragua! Wow, what an incredible day of waves. The surf was pumping pretty much the entire day. Very little lulls, if any, with perfect lefts and rights from sun-up to sun-down. Just another great Sunday Funday…. check it out!
