Not a whole lot to even show at the beach other than it’s a compete mess right now and anyone who can move and has any kind of transportation is going village to village doing what they can to help.
Although the raging flood waters have receded considerably, if you want to go anywhere from the safety of your concrete floors inside your home you’re gonna need a god pair of boots.
When you think of places that get hit pretty hard from natural disasters like this one… it’s easy to get frustrated just by the thought of having to go out in the horrible weather and roads to the market to find that all the shelves of your daily supplies may have been depleted; however it’s a whole seasons worth of crops that has been completely destroyed and you and your families food and or the money you need in order to survive a season has been washed away by the floods paints a whole new kind of picture of being “without:”
Well, yes that’s a well. and it’s gone… fresh water here is a luxury for many people here. This is one of the worst things to happen if you’re fortunate to have access to fresh water like these folks used to.
One of the many graces and super fortunate things to having this golf course here is we have a HUGE water tanker truck that can haul hundreds of gallons of fresh water to all the people who’ve lost their daily access to one of the most simple yet most needed supplies to all humans on the planet.
Muchísimas gracias as seen by two different local peoples faces, bu the smiles completely say it all!!!
Some might come here first with a notion that the kids here are unfortunate. I’ve seen how resilient they are and at such a young age with how much they learn how to adapt very quickly with what little resources they have. In the end… these are some of the most humble and appreciative people I’ve ever met.
Schools out… but thankfully it’s been a shelter / home for these families during the worst of the effect from Hurricane Iota.
I posted this on yesterdays report and I think if I remember correctly it’s doubled by $10K. This is one of if not the best local resources to send any donations. It’s run by Nica’s who 100% help the Nica’s…. whom also I want to let you know that they send a HUGE HEARTFELT THANK YOU to each and everyone of you who’ve donated and helped in any way!!!!Natural disaster in the form of flooding has swept through the Nicaraguan rural communities that we serve. The rivers have swelled carrying massive amounts of mud into the homes. Crops are destroyed and food stores ruined. We are raising funds to help with disaster relief for our communities after the devastating rains. All money raised will go directly to the local community. We are first concentrating on the elderly, pregnant women, and families with small children. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Please give today! Any amount will help. We are all in this together. Missions of Grace is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering struggling families. We provide the materials and education needed for them to succeed and we work alongside so that they can become self-sustainable.CLICK HERE TO DONATE!!!
When life throws you a hurricane, be stoked your favorite play park is still standing and go slide down your favorite slide! Nicaraguan humility at it’s finest!

Happy Monday surf fans! The swell we had dropped a little bit, but that never means there isn’t any surf-able waves here in Nica-Land. Let me show you what I mean…!
