Somewhere in Nicaragua

Actually to be accurate or just plain real about it… about three quarters of the people out in the lineup just came from the world surfing games and some serious contests, so everyone was well warmed up and ready to free surf, “sin la camiseta”, which means without the jersey.

If it were a contest out there today, it would have been some pretty tough competition.

As evident as it is with photos combined with this high level of surfing all morning today.

The locals don’t just sit back and let the clinic be an entertainment factor. They get on out there and give the visiting talent a show of their own. Carlitos showing everyone what kind fo work he does when it’s not big, throaty and barreling.

One thing you can count on for sure is the areal tactics the younger generation have gravitated to… and it shows.

But I’m a witness, and they are all well educated. In terms of well rounded surfing.

For every air I saw, I saw twice or triple the amount of some sick, proper rail and carve game.

Gotta give the homie D-man some dope props for keeping the vibes youthful out there by pulling this massive blaster air… notice the twin fin he’s rocking too. Yeaaaah buddy! I don’t think there was any other board out there with less than 3 fins or above 20 liters. Derek pulling a Kelly Slater oh snap moment! haha

Alrighty my Tuesday surf fans. There’s more swell coming, so just trying to keep it fun while the wavs are mediocre. Well, I really have to give credit to all the surfing talent out there right now, but check on back tomorrow and see what Mr. Baldo finds amongst todays youth, that have invaded one of Latin Americas best waves!
