As always, I ended up taking photos in the closest spot from Colorado, which is Santana beach. My intentions are always to go check out Popoyo but I guess I’m lazy… either way, Santana was looking good.

As always, the little wedges at Santana were doing their thing, throwing A-frames here and there, and just a few locals sharing them.

Most of the rights were slow and kind of fat but these kids didn’t waste any space to keep pushing their own limits and try new things.

But the few exceptions were really good, with a good size and steep walls to go for big turns.

Even some surfers got lucky enough and found a little bit of shade on the rights.

As you all know, Santana is famous for the lefts (as most of the best spots in the country) and most of the rides were focused that way.

Getting ready for a barrel with all eyes on him, not a bad spot to be.

Did I say “bad spot”? We all can relate to the saying “been there, done that”, and I could add ” so many times” to the end.

Ok, this is a series of bad spots all together… first, you have the late dropper “about-to-get-barreled-but-someone-dropped-in-on-him” kind of spot. Second, the guy who got caught on the inside and almost got ran over by the guy on the shoulder while checking if the late dropper will run him over instead. Third and last, the guy on the shoulder didn’t make it, his rail got caught and lost control right away.

FROM THE ARCHIVES

Welcome back for the Tuesday surf report. Today the surf was even smaller than it’s been so far for the start of August. But that still won’t keep people from trying to catch some waves. The weather was nice and we even had some nice cool breeze in the afternoon… check it out!
