The dawn patrol locals here take waking up literally at the crack of dawn pretty seriously. Buzzy and John G talking shop while the tide is still drained out while they contemplate their strategy about a lot more than you can think of. (Tide consideration, swell that’s currently in the water, the people who are out – which was at an all time low today, and is today a day to go get wet or wait it out and see just how it might be once that tide turns around in a couple of hours). Plus they get to watch stuff like this roll through during their morning chatter.

Now, you and I know if you saw this on any given day at your local surf spot, you’d be out there in a heartbeat! Yeah… we sorta get a little jaded here. But then again, they don’t call it paradise for no reason.

How do you take your morning huevos, with salt or extra salt. Of course the gallo pinto is always optional, but the maduros are extra, but sweet, kinda like this morning’s waves!

It wasn’t big by any means today. . . . however, the perfection factor was way up there!

Like really really good!

Low tide morning strolls on the beach, especially when it’s super low tide. . . a must, almost as as desirable here as the PM sunset viewing times!

Like I said, there weren’t many people out, but today was my amigo, Gal’s last day so I made extra sure to get down there for his last session and capture his parting epic waves for today!

How’d the conditions look to you?

I’d say, either way you looked, in either direction, they were both pretty picture perfect!

A couple of late comers. Maybe around 7. But that’s ok, the wait for more water is always a good thing!

So much froth on this wave, it oddly brings back some really fond memories of all the hours, days, weeks and months even years I put in at the mountains, shredding some of the best POW California has to offer!

Not a single paddle battle out there today. Just slow and easy going rotation and waves that reminded me more of what August and September should and usually looks like!

Even the waves were a little sleepy still. This unknown hombre, hand stalling to let that wave wake up and catch up!

The lighting today as well was impeccable. It was a total mix of perfect fun playful size and just enough energy and juice for some fun barrels and A-framing shoulders that any surfer would pay top dollars for any given time of the year.

Gal, finding all the right places to be in a completely open playing field today.

Just absolutely beautiful morning. Kind of eerie in a weird way, because we all know what’s coming very soon!

So low of a tide, it almost looked like it could pass that I was shooting from the water today.

Ohhh, well technically, I was. I was out there in about shin deep water with my mono-pod getting as close to the action as I could.

Last day, and you couldn’t even know or ask for a better day to part away from the magical land of Nicaragua. Gal, you my friend will be back as I am certain of it. Just the stoke on your face and body language say’s that you now have a new favorite wave in your books! This one’s for you Hermano…. I hope I get it right..??!?!?! שלום ידידי. נסיעה בטוחה הביתה ואני אראה אותך ואת כולם שוב בקרוב !!!!
