Somewhere in Nicaragua
Welcome back! Well it’s been a minute since I’ve done a report (at leas for the new month of February!) Had a few days off and came back to town to find some VERY typically super strong OFFSHORE winds and some actually decent swell in the water! Good to be back and hope you enjoy some of todays eye candies!
Those consistent winds have been dropping the water temps (slowly). I ran into Josh as he was just finishing up giving a surf lesson on my way down and he said, “Ya, it’s getting more chilly each day…. but the coldest (which WILL come) has yet to arrive” Thankfully! Unknown dude making the late afternoon Late drop at the reef today!
White capping out the back, while this young buck slayed this right. Looking like he came to play hard. Which means back home, he must work hard!
With that a high tide coming off of peak full moon highness, some of those backwashing waves looked to almost want to give you a slight chance of getting barreled; that is if you wanted to pull into the washing machine!
I must have checked the waves at least 3 times with no avail with any luck seeing any surfers out, but can always count on the sunset session, which was pretty amazing and plenty of people out!
The wave out the back makes the wave this grom took in look monstrous in comparison to his size. Like I said, there was some pretty decent swell out in the water!
I’ve been out of town, so I’m not up to speed with all the newcomers to February, but this guy (whoever he is) was killing it!
It looked very reminiscent of a long open wall at Rincon out there on some of them, and this dude surfed it like it was just that very same wave.

I just happened to glimpse over to see this proud papa tossing his little daughter, I think the highest I think that I’ve ever seen a dad do with their little one – which as you can tell, she’s a solid 13-15 feet in the air. If you can….. zoom in and look at here face. She’s looking directly at me with just as much confidence in her trust of flight by dad. All I can say is fly high little one!
