Somewhere in Nicaragua
Hola amigos! Happy Monday!! That magnificent swell that we had for days dropped off quite a bit today, so decided to take a little trip up north to a nice much more sheltered (the winds were bangin’ offshore today) spot and a place that still has plenty of fun waves even when it gets smaller, like it was today. Jump on in for the trip!
That ritualistic pre-surf experience EVERY surfer does religiously before every paddle out. I get small kine chicken skin flashback feelings of nostalgia if and whenever I get a whiff of the old old old school smell of the original sex wax. If you know, you know!
Ok, we may have went a little bit further north than we anticipated. We ended up at lowers, San Clemente CA. Hahaha – bromeando contigo!! But really, the crowds were a plenty!
But the surfing matched the vibes and feel of the lineup…. it was all mellow and actually a perfect day to be out on the open ocean.

Everyone (chicas, chicos) was out in full force to have lots of fun in that sweltering hot Nicaraguan sun today.
Joel, dogging and weaving through the late morning pack, nabbing one of the better sized set waves of the day.
Riding that thing all the way in past the channel and practically all the way to the beach, which is a solid 2-300 yards.
Beto right behind Joel on an even bigger wave. It started to pulse a little bit, but these guys came with their A-Game!
A-Game, CHECK!!!!
It was a super fun day and everyone got a good amount of their fair share of some noodle arm burners well worth making the day trip out of it.
Surfing, laughing, and smiles for miles it what it’s all about! Big thanks toClau Melendezfor taking the reins and shooting while I sat back and actually enjoyed a little chillax time chilling on a boat, watching all the fun surfing going down today! Tomorrow will probably be around here as usual, BUT the forecast is looking like we have a couple more days of super fun waves headed our way again!
