To start off todayās report, Iāll begin with the barrel of the morning made by Finley Weitzen.

Finleyās wave was so good that I couldnāt decide which frames to use for the report, so I decided to share most of the sequence.

The size and āsquare-nessā of this left keg offered plenty of standing room to Finley.

He did well to bottom turn underneath the falling lip just in the nick of time!

Sections of the lip further down the line from Fin began to pitch outward. He was so deep on this one that I was on the edge of my seat while shooting.

I didnāt think he was going to make this one, but I saw that it was really open and square. Sometimes these square waves give you enough space and speed to make seemingly impossible sections.

There were a few of us up on the beach watching this perfect left unwind. We were all holding our breath to see if Finley could pull the rabbit out of the hatā¦

More waiting⦠This was a long tube!

Still unwinding⦠Whereās Finley?

The fact that I hadnāt seen any sign of him by this stage made me skeptical that he was still up and riding in there somewhere.

I held out for Finley and kept shooting. The merry-go round is about to end here thoughā¦

The barrel is shrinking shut at last. Still no Fin?

AHA! Out comes the spit and Finley! I love his pose here post-super-shack! 10/10 in my book Finley!

Even Panga Drops was cranking this morning. It looks like these fellas mightāve been having second thoughts of coming to surf Colorados. I think they made the right call to surf here though!

Some perfect rights were bending through down closer to the river-mouth as well. The swell period has been perfect the last few days, creating peaks all the way up and down the beach.

Finley came in to check out his barrel clip with Jose. Then after verifying Jose got the clip, he got back down to business with Mikey. Double trouble on the way.

It looks like Lesther had seen more than enough spitting cylinders funnel through. Run Lesther run! Donāt miss the next set haha

Sidy from Senegal was out pig-dogging this morning. Heās been logging at least 3 to 4 hours a day in the water. When in Rome right?

This guy didnāt let the rip current stop him from tuck-n-rolling into this sandy right! Way to make lemonade from this lemon amigo.

āSee it, Feel it, Trust it.ā With barrel riding youāve always gotta have your eyes glued on the exit and the line you want to take through the tube.

Finley didnāt pull any punches today. He came out swinging at full force. He was sitting in the best spot today and finding all of the best lefts.

My head was spinning back and forth between the peaks as tube after tube marched through. The period, sandbars, and swell direction were so perfect today that there were rights and lefts coming in at all of the peaks.

Finley was unstoppable today. I guess you brought a set magnet down with you from California? LOL

To finish up todayās surf action, I have Julian acing a good sized right.

I bet the dude on the inside is wishing heād waited to catch this one⦠Haha

Julian looked so comfortable on this wave that I could infer heās quite accustomed to weaving through hollow rights. He made it look like no big deal.

Right when one would normally release oneās inside rail pressure to shoot out of the tube, Julian decided to tighten up on the breaks even harder for more time in the tunnel.

Section #2ā¦

Iād say Julianās was second best only to Finleyās long drainer from earlier.

Man, Julian didnāt ever want to come out of this one! Maybe heās a vampire hiding from the sun.

At long last he was forced out of his cave! Sick one Julian š

Thatās all for today folks! Friday and Saturday were super fun here at Playa Colorado, tubes galore! I hope you enjoyed the action and commentary from the past few days. The Photo Maestro, Brian Scott, is back on duty tomorrow, so stay tuned to see if our streak of fun surf continues!
