Somewhere in Nicaragua
This guy did his best to hold on for dear life. The chandelier section engulfed him, but you can still see his body and board through the lip.
Although the waves were still a bit marginal in my opinion, these guys who decided to surf this afternoon well be better prepared for the next few days than they would be otherwise by loitering on the beach (like me). Except I’ve been wearing my designated pusher shirt instead of loitering hahaha
This guy didn’t belt this section as hard as I was expecting, but his style all throughout this ride were stellar! I like his narrow stance, lagging back hand (although not necessarily functional), and his Rusty logo on his board.
This chica got a nice drop on this left-hand set wave. Hopefully she stepped on the gas pedal to ensure that this first section didn’t leave her in the dust!
Eddy did well to hit the breaks sufficiently to slide behind the current! He took a pretty much perfect line on this tricky wave, at least I would’ve likely tried to take a similar line on this one.
But Eddy pulled a rabbit out of a hat and managed to bust through the fairly thick lip! Very impressive Eddy! I’d say that’s a 10 pointer for today’s conditions.
But this actor must feel the burn of the subjective value of this barrel foregone as a result of an erroneous takeoff. This is a latter frame from the wave of above that our actor fell on. If I was him I would be writhing in pain as this was one of the better waves I saw while shooting.
A few grommets on the way in and on the way out. When in Rome right? Sunshine, 80 Farenheit water, and offshore winds aren’t a bad deal. Thanks for checking in to today’s report everyone! Tomorrow looks like it will be a bit bigger, so hopefully more tube time for your viewing pleasure. Yeww.
