Hola a todos! Welcome to the Saturday surf report from Colorados and a taste of Pangas as well. The swell dropped notably today, but there were still fun corners up and down the beach.
Tony Z gets his own highlight reel today! It’s about the time the man behind the lens gets some time in the limelight! Float the section!
Meanwhile further up the beach one of the bodyboarders out was getting inverted. You should only see someone inverted like this on a boogey, never surfing haha
Alright back to Tony! He managed to find his own peak down South, but not all the way at the beach club. He had tons of space and therefore had the pick of the litter. Here he is locked in pig-dogging on a hollow mini-left.
Colorados was a bit slow this morning, but fortunately most of the surfers were dialed in and picking off the better waves. How stylish is this guy’s floater?
Noooo Tony! The one that got away!
This was probably the best wave I saw all morning, but I don’t blame Tony for not going. He was probably too deep and didn’t have much paddle momentum. To make those steep and hollow drops it’s always preferable to more speed coming in as opposed to less.
Hey! Even the chicas were out getting a few waves at low tide! She just managed to avoid the nose-dive here, but a make is a make, so I’m sure she was stoked on it.
The waves further slowed down at dead low tide, so I darted up to Pangas to see what was happening. The wind was blowing into the rights, so this guy took advantage of that in an effort to take flight.
Now for a Yuji highlight reel! He can’t hide from me haha! Textbook form on this bottom turn, all coiled up ready for attack.
Almost 12 o’ clock, right Yuj? The waves were quite tame today, so he Yuji did well to generate so much speed/drive.
Style for miles Yuji! Getting low with that lead hand scraping the water surface. I wonder what inspirational instagram surf clip he saw which spurred him on here?
Baam! The most powerful turn of the day. This guy nailed the timing on this end section slam.

Alrighty amigos that wraps up Saturday’s surf action! We got a couple highlight reels from some of our resident Iguana shredders, which is always nice. Tomorrow Tony Z is back behind the lens, but the surf looks like it will be smaller, so maybe we’ll see some long-boarders in action.
