The wind was pretty much perfect all day today (until around 5:00pm). That made for some silky smooth walls perfect for getting on rail.
The tide was too high for this one to barrel, but it looks like our surfer is practicing his tube takeoff form for tomorrow morning.
Every now and again a hollow left would sneak past everyone closer to the beach club.
My neighbors and good buddies Yuji and Koji were out this afternoon. They’ve been ripping hard lately in both the big and small surf. Yuji getting snappy on this one 🙂
Woah woah there! Koji must’ve been watching some of the pros or some hot surf clips lately. He took the cake for the best move of this afternoon’s session. Speed, power, and flow!
Sophie was out getting some cruisey rides this afternoon as well. Opting for the high line!
Soul arch cutback? Sophie is so stylish she’s even creating her own new moves haha.
I was surprised to see some empty waves that barreled this evening. I think most of the hardcore surfers were spent after this morning’s session, so there were fewer surfers out to nab these good ones.
This guy getting the “second wave of the set” experience at Colorados. The first couple of big waves in the set are clean, but the second or third wave have lots of foam and froth on them from the distortions of the first wave or two.
Yuji trying to soak his brother out the back. Nice rooster tail Yuji.
This guy got the best combo of this afternoon. I still liked Koji’s power-cutback better, but this guy definitely blasted the lip hard here.
Perfect form on this next blast as well. I like how he is dropping his lead hand to the deck to stop his rotation and in preparation to open back up down the line.
Textbook under-the-lip takeoff! He rode out of this too!
Sophie getting smooth on rail again. She was in the zone this afternoon!
There were some bombs today! The surf was a bit mellow while I was shooting, but I have a feeling the swell will hang around tomorrow and we’ll see some more tubes tomorrow.
Macho-man Yuji haha! That’s all of this afternoon’s surf action. Lots of ripping even though I would say this was the mellower window relative to the morning. This morning there was quite a few crazy barrels made, my point being that there was a lot of good surfing today and it’s nice to see this place back in true form. I think tomorrow it will be really fun again, so be sure to check back in for more.

Hey everyone! Welcome to Saturday morning’s surf report from Panga Drops. The waves were very small today, but the morning window was favorable with the tide. Good for cruisin’!
