Hi everyone! Welcome to Saturday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The wind wasn’t so bad this morning and later in the evening, but it was a bit rough at mid-day. There was still a fair amount of swell today too.
John was the sole star of today’s report. He’s fully coiled up here for a big bottom turn.
Roundhouse cutback into the cross-face side-ripples.
Goofy-footers have been loving Panga Drops lately with the higher than standard proportion of lefts to rights.
Oh! The switch-jump floater. Looks like John is training for next year’s Chompipe surf contest Expression session division.
John surprised me with his exceptional style and posture on this hollow left section. Looks like he’s been working on his deep squats haha.
Panga Drops, the gentle giant. The problem isn’t with its gentle force, but that if you get caught inside it often means swimming through or under fives waves or more consecutively.
John taking a glance back to see what his opportunity cost was here. I think he made the right decision to grab wave number 1 here.
Smooth style with some roller-coaster pumps up and down the face of the wave to generate down-the-line speed.
An elusive and mesmerizing back-to-back right set to close the report. Tomorrow’s forecast looks like it will be pretty similar, but probably windier. If I had to guess the best windows will be early in the morning or later in the evening. Anyways, I’ll see you guys tomorrow. Have a good one!
