PLAYA HERMOSA

Playa Hermosa is one of the best kept secrets south of San Juan Del Sur. Playa Hermosa is over one mile long and features plenty of space to spread out with few local surfers! The wave quality is better than average and features numerous peaks, long walls, and the occasional barrel. This spot is fun for almost all skill levels. Because it is located South of SJDS, Playa Hermosa needs more swell than others to break; however, it can be a great spot to learn on smaller days. Walk down the beach to enjoy an empty peak with your friends. ADVICE: If you are coming to Nicaragua for less crowded waves, stay in SJDS and take the short ride to surf Playa Hermosa. Mid to High tides are best. WATCH OUT FOR: Empty peaks and occassional submerged rocks.
