Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, January 06, 2018

Brian Scott

Hey there weekend friends! Espero que tu fin de semana vaya bien?

Brian Scott

We had some pretty fun waves out there today.

Brian Scott

Just ask Roger….

Brian Scott

He was loving the reef this afternoon, catching waves left and right.

Brian Scott

Be it big or small, people exiting the water here always have a pretty good smile on their faces after a surf.

Brian Scott

Two for two on this super fun Saturday.

Brian Scott

The pulled back view of this wave never stops being impressive, no matter the size or the crowd.

Brian Scott

The closeup on the other hand can rival any other tropical paradise beach or reef break anytime of the year when the waves are of equall size and color.

Brian Scott

Backside schwackk attack from a local surfer, Nesmir Silva from the Rancho Santana Surf Team.

Brian Scott

Backside from same wave but totally different view, which do you like better??

Brian Scott

By the looks of it, there was something looking obviously pretty good straight out for these observers in the foreground. My sights were obviously set on my 12 O’clock.

Brian Scott

Talking about 12 O’clock. Straight UP!

Brian Scott

If I had to choose between the kids ripping out there today, I think Jhonsie Ruiz gets the prize, with moves like this!

Brian Scott

Neila Currey was out there today getting her surfing lessons on. Looks like her coaching is paying off pretty well!

Brian Scott

Saddy Guzman (also from the Rancho Santana Surf Team) would get my close second in the ripping department.

Brian Scott

At the end of it all, lugging your log back home with a smile on your face means it was pretty good day.

Brian Scott

Here in Nicaragua, especially on the coastal side of things, there are two kinds of Nicaragüenses; the people who partake in the ocean life - like these here handline fishermen trying for the best catch of the day.

Brian Scott

And then there’s the people who partake in the life of the ocean. The local wave riding people… 99.9% all first generation surfers but hearts of Aloha like they’ve been surfing for decades. Always keeping the stoke alive! Enjoy your weekend mi gente…. Dale pues ~
