Somewhere in Nicaragua

There was a huge playing field out there and plenty of swell to make you think. . . WTH???? Are we in May or June already, minus the crowds?

Surfing for well over a couple hours, he told me that the low tide actually was really epic! Barrels that seemed completely un-makable, but you could get so deep and come out (some of the best barrels – and that’s coming from someone who’s surfed here for over a couple decades now. It even had the locals left in awwwwww saying no waaaaay Colin was coming out of the barrels he was scoring earlier! Now that’s saying something!!!

And some sharp and ultraprecision surfing going down today, for sure!

I caught Sophie late yesterday up at the reef. . . seems like we got the connection going this year with our timing! Yaaaa Sophie!!

Let me know if this view / angle ever gets too old for you to look at? Ohhhh, can I just say it one more time…. pretty please….. IT’S FREAKING JANUARY PEOPLE!!!!!

And now for the part you all love the most. . . the barrel portion of todays surf report.

This was with the tide going up well past medium. Looks like (if this swell is still as punchy tomorrow as it was today, I’m going to have to hit that low tide) if the barrels were this good with that much water on it.

Like I said, Man on Fire out there today.

Carlos leaves no barrels unridden, at least while he’s out there surfing.

I wish I had caught all his rights from the other angle, he came out at least 3 or 4 that I was saw that for sure I didn’t think he was going to even make it out.

But then again….. It’s Carlos. I mean, come on!!! Never doubt the King!

Because when you come flying out of barrel after barrel after barrel, why not spread your wings and Fly with a MASSIVE huge gouging turn at the end like THIS!!
