The waves are getting better comparing to the last few days, now they are breaking a little bit farther from the sand.

The only surfer in the water was never in the right spot for the good waves, he spent an hour hunting for first peak, paddling back and forth around that whole area.

When he finally caught one he was too deep and could not make it to the face of the wave.

Mike decided to put on the flippers and do some bodysurfing, just to streach the body a little before the next swell comes.

He got some really nice rides!

Remember that in 2013 we had here at Santana the ISA World Juniors Surfing Championship?? Well, this event made a bunch of little kids from the area to start surfing, and since then, they’ve been getting better and better. Here are a few of the local kids that start surfing right after that event.

This is Nesmer Silva, 18 years old. He’s favorite spot (after Santana) is Playgrounds. You can follow him on Instagram @Surfingwithnesmer

This is Saddys Zapata, 16 years of age. He is kinda quiet but he is not shy with the waves. Check him out @saddyssurf

Oscar Guzman, the youngest of this crew with 16 years of age. He enjoy surfing Panga Drops (specially now that Santana has not been working much). Watch him surfing @guzman037

This is Heyner Ruiz, 17 years old. You can see this kid flying on every wave, he is all about doing aerials here at Santana. Follow him @Ruiz.heyner

The Santana crew, the local rippers. Keep an eye on them because they are the future representatives of the Nicaraguan Surfing in International events. Follow them on Instagram, and if you see them in the water, tell them that you see them all the time on our Surf Report, you will put a big smile on their faces and they might give you a wave or two for that.

And why not, now that I’m (properly) introducing the locals to the NSR fans, this is Michaela Novakova, 28 year old, she lives here on the beach and she is a great masseuse. Contact her for a massage through Facebook atSurfers Massages

And here is the famous Mike Delaney, my neighbor. He is 35 but he is been surfing for around 40 years (probably more). He lives between Santana and Ocean City, Maryland, where he works offering parasailing tours at OC Parasail.

It seems that tomorrow might, hopefully, be good here at Santana. We’ll see about the wind though. Have a great weekend!
