PLAYA SANTANA
Hello everyone, this is Baldo from our beautiful Santana beach in Tola, the center of the surfing universe of Nicaragua.
After having problems starting my 91 Toyota Land Cruiser, by the way, the perfect surf mobile for this area (big thanks to my neighbor Mike (you’ve seen him on this report very often) for helping me), I might got a little bit too late to the beach… there were only three surfers in the water and the tide was getting low.
There were a lot of pelican in the water, flying around, diving for fish, enjoying the morning and escaping from the crashing waves whenever a set came.
This other pelican managed to escape from the wave right on time… and the surfer tried to do the same but gravity did its job. He almost landed it though.
Even though the tide was getting low they were a lot of waves with a really nice shape coming through, and nobody around to catch them.
I’ve heard it’s been cold in many places in the US… don’t you want to be surfing, enjoying the warm sun, relaxing on a property overlooking Santana beach? But you don’t need to be a surfer to enjoy paradise… this guy knows how to hang out at the beach, a girlfriend, some nice shades, a big smile and a big cooler!

Hello Monday, The swell continues into today with some cleaner conditions. There were some long waits, but for the few patient people in the water there was some glory to be had. @tonyzphotos reporting.

Hello and happy Sunday to everyone tuning in! This is Eric checking in with a daily update right from the beach. We had another beautiful morning here in paradise! The waves haven’t changed much, winds are super calm and the water temperature is getting warm!
