The wind direction would shift around between straight off-shore, as shown here, and cross-shore with some chop on the face like you saw in the first image.
I don’t want to say too much about some of these next few photos as it’s from a mysto-peak that we don’t want to blow up haha.
It’s too fast and un-makable right? 😉 😉 😉
Woah there! Even some split peaks at our secret spot? It’s funny because you really have to look closely to find this spot from the beach. I’ve seen people paddle out through a perfect set at this spot, and then continue across to a completely different peak. It doesn’t look makable until you take off I guess.
Alrighty, let’s get back to the regularly scheduled program. This guy’s mighty bold to stand so tall and relaxed on a shortboard riding straight into the wind haha. I would think this would be a quick way to lose your speed.
Turn of the day! What a humble guy wearing his bucket hat to hide from the fans haha.
This guy navigated the wild wind and backwash with skill. It’s not easy surfing Pangas when it’s windy.
Scott Wallach is a tall guy, so the fact that he’s got a couple feet of space between his feet and the bottom of the wave here indicates just how large some of the sets were today. Quality rail-work on display here!
And to close today’s report we have a sneaky barrel from a lucky shredder. I paddled out after shooting and found a couple of head dips myself. It’s rare to see such fun lefts at Pangas, but I guess we have a weird swell direction and sandbars. Tomorrow’s forecast looks identical, so hopefully a few more surfers paddle out and tear the faces up so I don’t have to use so many lineup shots haha.
RECENT REPORTS
Happy Sunday everyone! Welcome to this evening’s surf report from Panga Drops. The wind puffed pretty hard again today and the new swell isn’t here yet. There were still a few decent windows though.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Buenos días damas y caballeros! Got up super early this morning to try and get down there to see how the rights and the morning light was going to be working for the day and it turned out to be a pretty awesome morning, both lighting and surf-wise!
