As I was about to park at Pili’s to check out Colorado in the afternoon, I saw these guys leaving Pili’s parking lot in their two rental golf carts and headed North.
So I decided to skip Colorado and follow them to the reef, where there are always waves.
This is what I saw as soon as I parked at the beach… long lines coming in, and only 4 surfers out there.
Once at the beach I recognized the guys in the golf carts… it’s the group staying at the NSR Beach House! Ready to kill it, Phil?
You have to always be careful at Panga Drops, if you pick the wrong wave you might have a short, frustrated ride on a wave that never breaks.
Another thing you need to be careful it’s catching one of those great waves with too many sections… or learn how to deal with them like this guy.
Also try to avoid getting lured to the “barrel” on the inside… most of the time it’s just a surprisingly powerful closeout that can easily break your board, or your neck.
Never catch the first wave… I already talked about this two days ago, look for it on our archives.
A nicely done cutback with a great spray on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon.
That’s it for today NSR fans, come back tomorrow for more surfing in Nicaragua. Cheers!
