Decided to check the surf, crowd, tide pretty much everything I look for when shooting the report, but from one of my old hideouts.
You like this little different perspective? It’s really awesome when the waves are bigger and firing!
I can also get a pretty good view on the beachie from one of my favorite vantage points. However, it didn’t look like too much was going on down that way, unfortunately.
Looking back towards the cliffs, I noticed all of my (3) surfers had already exited the water. It was just the birds, some fishermen and lots of jumping fish waiting to be caught.
I decided to cruise down towards the reef….. but where are my people at???
Ahhhh, there’s one of them. My buddy Vin, trying to get some shade!
I get asked a lot by passerby’s who can’t help but notice my lens and camera setup. The number one questions….. “Hey so what’s the range, or how far can you zoom in with that thing?” Well, if you wanna know I shoot with all Canon gear, a Canon 7D Mark II and a 100-400 telephoto zoom lens. Here’s what 100 looks like.
aaaaand here’s what 400 looks like. Not too bad eh?
Awesome, looks like some more surfers were getting ready to head out too. Looks like they’re eyeballing something out there….?
Yeah, it was actually pretty nice. I tell you that tide push has been the saving grace literally for the last week or so.
Plenty of rippable little waves. Sure beats working, or anything else that involves responsibilities. Surfing is the best therapeutic way to go out and forget about all your problems for as long as you like, as long as you feel like surfing.
This gal looked like she was really enjoying herself some nice warm Nicaraguan waves out there today. Check out her ear to ear smile!
There was equal amount of surfing talent out there today too. Everything from beginner all the way to advanced.
You know that feeling when the waves coming right to you and you turn and start to paddle? Well, this grom has it down where he does the professional (almost no paddle in)… he just lets the wave come to him. That’s how dialed in he’s been getting surfing pretty much every day out here.
I really don’t even need to caption this, as his surfing pretty much speaks for itself!
So on that note, I knew I had well over enough good shots to cover a good surf report. So here I am writing my call it what you want, captions and commentary while Matt here finishes off this wave with a nice lip bash floater combo. Swing on back by for hump day mañana with Javier (aka – Baldo) for tomorrows surf report. I’ll see ya’ll back here again on Thursday!

Hey everyone! Welcome to Tuesday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The waves were really fun this morning. This week should be the best we’ve had in some time.
