Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, February 05, 2021

Brian Scott

Happy Friday Ya’ll!!!! It’s the weekend and man, today was such a great morning of waves again, I don’t think there’s a better way to kick off the weekend any other way! Enjoy ~

Brian Scott

Still super windy, as expected for the next little while. But hey, it sure beats onshore, which is pretty much everywhere else in the world most of the year. Jejejeje we’re the exact opposite!

Brian Scott

Grant coming out of a windy tunnel right. It is definitely harder to go right when the winds are this strong. So getting a little barrel on this right at the reef is pretty special!

Brian Scott

It sure didn’t take Emily that long get her sea legs back. In fact it’s like she never even left.

Brian Scott

Can you say STOKED!!!!! Well, you’d be too if this was the wave right outside your living room window and you wake up to see this while you make your fresh batch of coffee every single morning. Yeah Em!

Brian Scott

Close out sections NEVER mean the wave is over! It’s all in your mind. Rob’s got a big fat huge floater on his mind….. and it’s pretty sick!

Brian Scott

What do you think, paddle out now or wait for low tide???? Hahaha only the locals and perma-gringos know that answer!

Brian Scott

There were waves a plenty too….. I mean solid sets with no lulls maybe maybe 2 or 3 min max. It was like a wave machine out there this morning.

Brian Scott

And both the lefts and the rights were working equally good. I’m regular foot, so I am partial to those rights, but the lefts most definitely have the upper advantage as you have the wind to your back, thus making the waves way easier to catch and ride like this dude is showing exactly how it’s done!

Brian Scott

Kenny always sits in the spot where I would think everyone else would or SHOULD be. BUT hey, what I do I know, or even better what does he know? He’s only surfed this place longer than anyone else out there today (expect maybe Jack)… who also sits in the same spot.

Brian Scott

When you know…. you know!

Brian Scott

This is when that comment I made about “Close out sections NEVER mean the wave is over!” means, you really gotta get creative for this predicament. Lucas with 100 things running through his mind right about now. At the top of the list…. man I really wish this thing would throw out and be a prefect barrel to pull into!

Brian Scott

Some weren’t always makable today, but the higher percentage were, and that’s why today looked so freaking fun out there!

Brian Scott

Who knows… maybe 20 or 30 maybe 35 mph wind gusts out the back on the open ocean. The inside however stayed pretty clean and still strong offshore, but it was just so clean and the water was so clear and amazingly beautiful!

Brian Scott

Like I said, there’s ALWAYS a way to finish off a wave here, or make it around a section, there’s so many options, it’s ridiculous.

Brian Scott

And everyone has their own style with that infamous end section. John super styling on the softy with this rad lip bash to re-entry. Sick one buddy!!!

Brian Scott

He rides the softy practically just as good as is regular short board…. which is saying a lot if you’ve ever even even tried to ride one of those super thick and clunky behemoth ideals of a surfboard.

Brian Scott

See this is what is common to see on a softy. but I don’t blame the surfer, I blame the offshore! You’ll get the next one dude!!!

Brian Scott

Ahhhhh…. when I saw Alvaro swimming in, and then realizing he was leashless, it all added up. But then he came over to me and said he had already surfed for 2 hours. So you can most definitely say, Alvaro’s Friday had started off JUST RIGHT (despite his poor broken leash).

On that note, I’ll leave you all to enjoy the rest of your Awesome Friday night. I will try and get down there earlier tomorrow, sounds like it was better than when I went down so, earlier might have to be the call mañana! Have a great night guys and girls ~
